Our mixed 6.0 40+ team, partially pictured above, captained by Jill Bratos, has clinched their spot at USTA sectionals. The team will represent Long Island, this September. Deer Park-Bratos placed 1st in Suffolk County and then won a tough-fought playoff match against Lynbrook and Donna Healy’s 6.0 team earlier this month. Well deserved and good luck at Sectionals!

The 18+ team finished first in their division, placing ahead of the 2nd-place team by 20 points. After winning a tight semifinal match against a tough Christopher Morley team, Deer Park lost an incredibly tight match against Huntington, 2-1, finishing 2nd for all of Long Island.

Hey tennis families!
A few weeks ago we ran a family doubles tournament, and it was such a blast, that next weekend, on Sat the 24th, we are doing another FAMILY TOURNAMENT!
All teams that have family ties are welcome to sign up (for example, father-son, brother-sister, and husband-wife).
No age restriction, but combined, teams must be at least 6.0 level equivalent (more on that here: opentennis.net/au/ntrp).
The setting is the same – the first half hour is warmups, followed by five 30-minute rounds of matches.
Based on the results of these rounds, whichever team got the best win-to-lose ratio – wins!
The tournament is carried out in a round-robin format. We will accept up to 12 teams, so hurry to sign up!
